Smashing! I like this idea of fantasy chariot race more and more. I'm really tempted to think about a similar project in 28mm :)

Yeah, I'd thought about a bigger scale, but the size of the track needed for 25s put the kabosh to that. As it is, with 15mm the track is going to be 87" x 32", with each space 40mm W x 30mm D. Good luck if you go that route... :)

The team bases are 60 x 40mm. Track layout is based on Avalon Hill' Circus Maximus game.

I'm having fun with the special rules development. Some examples:

"Racial Enmity": certain races must attack particular race(s) when passing e.g. Goblins v. Dwarves, Orcs v. Elves/Dwarves

"Animal Enmity": certain animals must attack others when passing, e.g. Big Cats v. Wargs, Wolfhounds, or Dire Wolves (you know the saying - fight like cats and dogs)

Also going to have some hazards / traps on the track, that will appear/ disappear at random times and places. Pit, stakes, caltrops, etc. Think the cats coming out of the pits in Gladiator.

Lots of specific driver/crew and animal characteristics to give some additional flavor.

I have a large cloth that I'm considering using for track, it has a great texture to it. I also looked at option of using a laser cut/etched sets of mdf boards. I've seen a board advertised on the 'net some years back, but have yet to close the loop on that.

#10, 11, and 12...

With a dozen staged I need to now finish them off:

- Paint touchups
- Basing
- Whips
- dullcote

I've done up some simple card sized aids that show special rules for each team's crew and animals, and the player status sheet. Did the graphics in Visio.

Still looking at options for the game mat / race track.

Next two teams... Dark Elf and Wood Elf.

The field of teams... Think this is enough to get started...

And now the track...

I'll need to paint up the bases to get into the same color palette as the track.
