Hi.

Strictly, three Soldiers or two Skirmishers on a 60mm frontage (depth is not important under DitDC).

I have based my figures on 2p coins so that put paid to that. I did try sabot movement trays with 3 x Solders on 60x60mm but it doesn't look right.

My Germans got royally stuffed yesterday by Ruritanians (based on the British in East Africa). I even lose in my ImagiNation   lol

So, i could do paint my "marines" in white [iffy, i know]

Or, just paint them up properly and think the hell with it. Perhaps, lighter coloured helmets as a nod to the marines?

Painted white they wouldn't look all that different from the actual troops from the landing parties. A case of "close enough is close enough." That's what I'd do, if I hadn't already started experimentally headswapping a few pith helmets on to sailors' bodies for my little Wissmanntruppe force.  :)

Or just paint them up as actual Seebataillon troops and simply use them as general purpose stand-ins for whatever troops the occasion requires. Nothing wrong with a bit of pretend if you like the khaki look.

Do you know what, painting the marines in white appeals to the lazy sod in me [headswaps indeed] especially as i have more than enough troops in khaki between the Germans and British.

However, having looked carefully at the figures and brushed up on the See-Batallion i think i'll compromise with khaki, black [or brown] equipment and white helmets circa 1890

Great fan of German colonial forces. They are my main force for "In the heart of Africa" ruleset. I have a large unit of German Marines mainly Pulp Figures. Here is a pic of a couple of them where based on vallego desert yellow as the base colour for the uniforms. This is my first post I hope you like them. regards simon
