Need some advice in converting Neo-Soviet into Chinese remnants
« on: December 10, 2013, 12:49:52 PM »
Hello everyone,

Im wondering if anyone has ever converted Copplestone Casting Neo-Soviet or any other Neo-Soviet miniatures into Chinese Remnants? Im thinking about purchasing a pack of them to represent remnant forces but im not sure how to make them look ghoulish. Ideas? These are the miniatures im thinking of encase you weren't sure. http://www.copplestonecastings.co.uk/images/fw42.jpg

Thanks in advance,

Andrew

With ghouls all you really need to do is plop on some balled zombie heads. You could paint them to look a bit more tatty, but the only difference with the game models is that the Ghouls use a different skin (and mesh for the head I think). With my own remnants all I'm doing is that, whilst perhaps adding on some looted gear to replace the soldier's aging equipment. So I'll me equipping them mostly with Chinese gear, but adding on backpacks, extra pouches, shovels, pistols, knives, etc, just to make them a bit more "lived in". Though those models look fine enough as they are just to swap out the heads and use them in your games (if I didn't have my eyes set on the Wargames Factory Russians I may just use them instead).

That's just a West Wind Japanese officer with a simple zombie head swap. =P

Hi Dobbie here is my Chinese Remnants (halfway down the page) http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=35048.30

My figures are Atomic Café 1957 Soviets with a few head swaps for zombie heads. The leftmost and rightmost figures in the pic above haven't had a headswap. All I did was cut off the model's nose and ears and it gives a very suitable Fallout ghoul look.

@ emperorpenguin- Great stuff!! I love your miniatures and just cutting off a nose and ears is a stupidly easy conversion and it looks great! Thanks muchly!
