I like the fighters, they're very similar to something I had planned to build. Winged Hussar dragons however....
So many projects..... so little time.......

A credible effort, I liked it.

The dragon riders were cool...

I thought it gave a bit of Westerfeld (living vs. mech) taste to it. Not entirely sure a good thing, but something I could hook to.

The fighters seemed over-capable in the weapons side, but the whole 'tuck in your wings and DIVE' was fun.

Usual story, great special effects but little emphasis put into story and actors.
Without a great story to begin with no amount of cgi will improve it.

Or as the saying goes.... " you can't polish a turd!"

Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly
down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red
Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture,
torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals.

If they're fossilized, coprolites, yes you can!  lol

I will say, I've seen a lot of test runs set to flog for financing that were pure dreck, and good did come from it. As they go, I thought they did well, though you are SO correct, this is a scene, not a story.

This film does it much better. Good acting and style. More is suggested in these few minutes than all the action packed stuff of the previous film.

And apparently they have money to make a feature film!

True enough...

...which suggests to me other test shots, between the live action and story board shots we see here, probably no better than the first 'VSF film'.

YMMV, of course, but the 'marionette' theme needs more substance before I can find it interesting. Greater potential than just flying around shooting things, but I really think greater chance for falling flat.

Unless there are midi-chlorians. I'm all about midi-chlorians.

Edit: Just hit me; they must be "merely the protrusion into our dimension of hyper-intelligent pan-dimensional beings who, unbeknownst to the human race galactic culture, are the most intelligent species on the planet Earth in the galaxy, far far away..." It's the only explanation...  lol
