War on Mars: G&Tea
« on: December 15, 2013, 09:30:09 AM »
Friday Night (13/12/13) saw the Nunawading Wargames Association play a big Gaslight bash. A British garrison on Mars came under attack by Prussians and an alliance of Native Martians and Jihadists. What were these nefarious foes after? The only supply of Tea and Gin on the red planet of course!

The British relief force, before massive losses.

The combined Jihadi and Martian forces.

The nefarious Prussians.

The garrison, braced for siege.

Scout balloons are the first to reach the walls.

Prussian Automatons lumber towards the gates.

Native bridges are not ideal for military operations.

Diverse Martian Spices rally to defend their planet.

Turn 1: The Anti-Colonial lines surge forward.

The view from the West wall.

The Egyptian Auxiliaries flee for their lives, the British officer stands his ground.

The Dauntless sights the Prussian lines.

The Sky-Walkers attempt to outflank the Jihadis

Turn 2: The Sky-Walkers are outclassed by the Dervishes.

Heathen Magic!

The Zealots triumph.

The endless blue tide.

Into the breech!

Martian cavalry are left stumped when Jihadi rockets fail to hit the fort walls.

Violent skirmishes in the hills.

More to follow.

Well said, and well asked, Sir Randall, twin brother of a different mother!

His lordship knows how I delight in conveyances of the air, and what little we see are charming!

I shall warn you though, Hat Guy, that I'm notorious for posting links to such posts in the 'Aeroneffs, Flyers, and all things airbourne.' sticky.  ;D

Doug

Edit: Spices rally? Zounds! They must be peppered with grapeshot!  lol

Hardly unusual to see such obvious enthusiasm to outstrip one's typing; excellent stuff!

And to continue:

Prussian Daleks spot a familiar sight in the hills.

Turn 3: The Steam-Tank fails to run over the remaining Dervishes.

For some reason, the Prussian cavalry surges past the fort...

...The Automatons, however, lumber straight to the objective.

Turn 4: Mounted troops clash!
