Great terrain
« on: November 23, 2006, 01:53:18 PM »
Just received a parcel today with absolutely stunning terrain.

There's a guy near Hannover (Germany) who launched a business with terrain items he produces himself.  I found this on eBay and bid. What I got was fantastic. The pieces are absolutely life-like when it comes to surface structures and they are huge (you can't see that on the ebay pics).

Here is one of his current auctions.

I feel we should support people who come up with unique items that are really useful for wargamers of all kinds. And Peter is a very nice guy but new to the scene.

The terrain pieces he produces can be used for all kind of geographical theatres the people in this forum have games in. They come readily flocked but you can ask for plain unflocked pieces as well (as I did to make it fit my terrain). Just a few pics I pinched from him - I couldn't resist to show to you at once the pieces I obtained .

So judge for yourself:

Cheers,

Nice, the stone areas could need another light drybrush for my tastes but the structures look good.
What material are these made of?

Just an addition. These things are not of the carved expanded polystyrion type but cast in moulds somehow. According to Peter it's a mixture of acrylics, a special plaster and celluose (it won't break and is tough but you can be cut it easily - the rock needles come in two parts each, so you have to make the top fit). They are hollow but sturdy, a bit flexible  and very light concerning the weight. Unpainted and unflocked they have the same dark-grey colour as the the Ziterdes rock pieces.
