Perry DAK in helmets
« on: December 19, 2013, 05:41:45 PM »
Now I realise that there is some concern out there about the quality of these Perry plastics and the fact that they appear to be carrying the wrong canteen..... but I'd just thought I would share these five with you all. I like these figures and I think they paint up rather well.

Great looking bunch. Don't know what the issue is over the canteen, but I'm glad to read all is well.

Cheers,

Helen
Best wishes,

Fab'lous.

The canteen apparently should have a cross-strap and a smaller cup (the one shown is the standard one, not the tropical one). I wash my hands of it, I really don't have a dog in that fight, I just like the purdy toys and I've yet to see a Perry's min that didn't excel.

I read that and had to smile. I've some nice (original) pictures of DAK surrendering and there is a complete jumble of kit - canteens of all four major types at least.

Yep, pretty much impossible that every tropical unit was assigned 100% correct equipment.  I would bet money plenty of guys deployed with standard non-tropical canteens.   lol

Further North Africa is a theatre notorious for kit customization. Germans with British and Italian gear was rampant!

These guys look great!

Cracking work!  Even if there was an issue with the canteens the sheer 'wow factor' of your paint jobs should distract anyone from that.

To echo the earlier comments, lovely work, they put the ones I painted for Quint to shame.
