The return of the mark of Zorro. A photo AAR (picture heavy)
« on: December 19, 2013, 06:36:17 PM »
I got together earlier today with some long term friends who I had not seen for a while to play our traditional Christmas game. It was put together at relatively short notice so I decided to run a game I had previously presented at BLAM 2012 as none of this group had played it. So apologies to those of you who look at this and recognise it from before.

The dastardly Governor of Alta California has hatched a plan to capture or kill El Zorro. He will lure him into a trap by hanging an innocent peasant. Knowing Zorro will be forced to make a rescue attempt the Governor has El Capitan Elforno place extra guards around the town square, he has reinforcements under Sargento Garcia hidden in the church and an assassin also hiding in the bell tower of the church ready to shoot Zorro when he makes his rescue attempt.

El Zorro is assisted by his beautiful wife Elena and a number of loyal Vaqueros who are also hiding in one of the town buildings. Zorro enters the game disguised as the Franciscan monk who will administer the last rites to the condemned man.

Much fun was had and the game ran true to Hollywood with much swash and buckle as Zorro dispatched El Capitan, El Coronel, a number of guards, managed to dodge the assassins bullets and made for the final showdown with the governor. Unfortunately for Zorro he had used up all of his luck and after several rounds of furious sword play the Governor ran him through...

No doubt Zorro will survive his wounds and return for the sequel next year....!

Rules are  LOTOW.

Figures mostly painted by El Supremo Bugsda, along with contributions from Camp Dave and myself.

Terrain and scenics bits by me.

I usually place all my Zorro related stuff on the Old West board, but felt for a change that Zorro fits nicely here as well. :)

Bravo compadre!
All looks terribly familiar, but never tire of seeing old San Antonio  :)
Splendid shot of El Generalissimo by the cactus.
