Brent, I'd suggest maybe looking at a couple of sheets. NATO with US, West German, Belgian and Danish, with a non-NATO set for South Vietnam, Brazil, Chile, Taiwan etc.

Most of those, especially the national insignia, would be useful for other vehicles, including a number of your own existing models.

IIRC the M-41 tanks used by the CIA stooges for the Bay of Pigs were unmarked so that one is easy.  :)

Hmm that makes me think I may need to order some more of these......

Will talk to Kosta about BTR crew.

For the 1960s, the US CVC helmet was the standard and easy to convert that figure with some greenstuff.

Difficult one really, the U.S. had stopped using the M41 in front line units around the same time as they stopped using Elvis and his helmet type. The ARVN still used the older type helmet for quite a while, but got the CVC mid/late '60s-ish. Anyone else I don't know about.

The CVC, or at least initially standard commercial football helmets with a mike and earphones added, due to shortages of the CVC, were in use from around the time of the Checkpoint Charlie stand-off (1961) onwards at least... the crews are wearing them in the photos took then.

If I was suggesting a 'new' figure, I'd say CVC is the best option to ask for though. A couple of Brent's WW2 guys (all except the figure second from left actually), with some small amount of work (i.e. add a mike boom) should do the trick for anything earlier for odd-balls like me.

I agree, with that excellent summation. For Yanks M-41 crew you want the Elvis/ Atomic Army football helmet look and that can be carried off using existing figures.

Would be kind of handy to have some CVC wearing crewman for other models though. Dunno if Brent's Ontos has opening hatches for example.

In Brazilian service you see the CVC style helmet appearing in the mid, late seventies. Around the time of the 1964 coup, crews are either wearing US style football helmets or M-1 steel helmets.

Updates on this...

There has been enough response that instead of doing the molds myself for a limited run, I've sent the master off to JTFM for production casting!

ETA is this summer.  The entirety of the initial release stock will be offered to LAF members here first, and any left over will make it to the web shop.

As soon as we have pictures of the cast models and a precise ETA, I will let everyone know!

Trying to plan my purchasing for Historicon, will the Walker Bulldog make it there?  If so, I'll take two!

I doubt they will make Historicon, as JTFM just received them in the post last week.  But I'd expect them to hit in August, as we have a new moderns push when we re-open the website in September.

As a new release, they will be offered here on LAF first before we post them to the webshop.

JTFM is currentlu casting these.  I'll see if I can get an ETA...

I may do some sort of pre-order deal to make sure we cast enough for those that really want them.
