The Knight looks great. Nice to see that you are using a pyrogravure. Is it 1970s vintage or a more modern purchase?

1970's I'm afraid, feeling old now.

I have to admit seeing 'pyrogravure' did bring to mind all those old Military Modelling articles from back in the day, where they would use one to turn a Historex Napoleonic French Hussar into all manner of things by using one... a WWI cavalryman, Macedonian War Elephant, VW Beetle, all manner of things were possible, they were like Dr Who's sonic screwdriver in the right hands.

I have an Historex one too, bought from that quaint little model shop that used to be in the alley by the Midland Hotel and the old New Street Station in Birmingham town centre.

I unfortunately never got around to buying a pyrograuve, when I was doing plastics in the 70s I was still at school and the money I earnt working in the local newsagents after school and at weekends never quite stretched to the purchase of a pyrograuve. too much of my hard earnt cash was being allocated to LPs, discos, beer, cigarettes and girls. By the time I had surplus funds I was into lead. Nearest I ever got to a pyrograuve was a sharpened pin soldered to an old paint brush handle and heated up with either a candle or cigarette lighter.

It will be a while yet I'm afraid, so busy with commission stuff and getting my early Great War stuff on the table at the moment to do more.

Ooh! I haven't seen any of your Great War stuff yet, I suppose it's on your website? I'll take a look anyway  :).
