15mm Update
« on: January 01, 2014, 08:25:37 AM »
Hi All,

Not posted for a while but I have been busy with real life and a little painting.

I had a surge on the 15mm Fantasy front in the vain attempt to reduce my lead mountain.

Check my blog to see the results

Comments always welcome

Who else has been attacking their 15mm mountain to get their fantasy armies truly huge! :D

I've decided 2014 will be the year I take the plunge into 6mm or 15mm fantasy gaming. I've bought a pile of miniatures in both sizes and painted none so far but I expect to have at least two armies painted by March. I like 15mm for the size and detail but I'm not too excited about the prices. I like 6mm for the price and the giant games I can imagine being played with them but I'm not too excited about not being able to tell what the miniatures are from 3 feet away.

I'm watching an old episode of Porridge at the mo. I have to ask... Bunny Warren? ;)

Nice 'n' impressive spread of minis! Good painting. I especially like the skintones on the ogres.

Been meaning to ask the forum about fantasy scale choices. In your case: why not 10mm?

I've been adding more painted stuff to my Nomadic Orc, Crusader and Chaos armies.
And am in the process of adding to my Dwarf, Orc and Undead Armies.
I don\'t know whether to be a good example or a horrible warning.

It is purely a cost issue. I can find US based 6mm and 15mm manufacturers. Overseas shipping is way too expensive these days.

Great set of figures - I hunted for a long time for some of those, gave up and bought a pile of SL just before they where rereleased and still have the majority of the SL to paint before buying these!

In fact, you have cranked out more bases in three posts than I have done figures in the last two years!

Keep up the work, following with interest :D

I know 15mm is a little more expensive than 6mm but I feel that the detail and overall look of these armies far out weigh this matter.

I have been collecting the metal for many years, I buy what ever I can on EBay and bring and buys, although 15mm is not that common.

On this stint at work I have done some fantasy work, although the minis are historical Achamid Persian, well Xyston Egyptian Marines painted as Stygian Royal Army, lots of red and gold!

Photos will follow.

As you may tell it's 15mm all the way for fantasy!
