Relic (40k Talisman-esque Boardgame) Busts
« on: January 10, 2014, 09:15:41 AM »
Hi there!

After seeing the fantastic busts/playing pieces that came with Fantasy Flight's Warhammer 40,000 version of the boardgame Talisman, I knew I had to slap a bit of paint on.

I tried to stay true to the colours used in the game illustrations.

Undercoat of Army Painter Leather Brown, bit of a base and quick highlight before "washing" with the dreaded dip.

Cheers!

p.s. I'm new around here, so apologies in advance if I've stuffed up the picture formatting.

Thanks!   :)

Relic is a fun game very much in the 40k version of Talisman with a few Fantasy Flight style add ons to the rules that can make it seem a bit complicated at first but is soon mastered.  My only gripe is that it's 4 player only but I'm sure there is a way around that.

Great work! Can you give an indication of the size of those pieces?

Only gripe I have is that some of the lenses/gems have not been painted, but the overall result is certainly nice.

Try looking for house rules on Boardgamegeek; I'm sure there are people there who have adapted the game to their needs...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Yes, I think you are right  :)  I quite like painting gems so I will go back and sort these ones out at some point, probably in a mad rush before a scheduled game no doubt.

BGG will save me.
