Some Vintage Citadel
« on: January 04, 2014, 09:23:45 AM »
I've had some eighties Citadel lead stashed away for some time now and a fortnight ago decided to start tackling this pile. The general idea is to paint-up a handful of model from each race and use them with Matakishi's 'Crom' rules. More about my intentions in this regard may be read over at my blog.

The Old Minis turned out GREAT...especially the Orcs. The SPLENDID background adds nicely to the photos & highlights the EXCELLENT brushwork. VERY WELL DONE!

I LOVE the OLD minis, man I wish they would recast ALL of them!

The sad things is that if they did recast 'em:

1.They'd be in Finecast
2.They'd retail at aroung £20 per figure

Ebay would still be cheaper!

Thanks for your words.

Lovely stuff. Whilst I'm a matt varnish all the way kind of painter, that old school gloss works nicely on these models.

A great selection.I must confess to a preference for the long-faced style of Citadel orc, like those you have here, to the short-faced type that became dominant later.
