Cards for games
« on: March 06, 2014, 04:25:03 PM »
I want to make some cards for a skirmish game that show various states of a figure, stunned, dazed, etc. like the set for Pathfinder, but I am not sure how to go about doing so. Has anyone done something like this, and if so, how would I make some cards?

For status effects, wouldn't tokens be better? there are a lot of laser-cut plastic tokens available from CorSec, Litko etc. with Dazed, Stunned, Out of Ammo and so on.

If it has to be cards, Photoshop or GIMP gives you the most flexibility, at least that's what I use when making cards (for equipment, mainly).

I use blank business cards with the image/words I want to portray on one side and a picture/name of the game on the other side.  I then laminate them to preserve them.  Haven't got access to a pic at the moment but happy to  post one later if you need an example.

I guess I didn't explain my idea clearly enough. Each character wouldhave a sheet with all of their particulars on it and I was thinking a space for cards, but I could use tokens.

I did something similar with cards for my Scavenge Skirmish Survive rules. If you go to the store (link in footer) they are under free downloads.  There's also an MS Word template for making ones own cards - if you don't change the table borders (card size) they'll fit inside a brand of card sleeve.  :)
