Battle of Dorking here we come!

Maybe a cheeky intervention in the Franco-Prussian War too.

Yes! Now there's an idea, the so called Shiminoseki incident.  Royal Marines, US Navy, French and Dutch landing. I'm pretty sure US Marines are covered by someone or convertible/paintable from regular ACW types. Suitable French sailors and marines exist in crimean and FPW ranges, Foundry and Mutineer have suitable Royal Navy types. Don't know what Dutch matelots looked like or if they had marines present. No doubt generic sailor typesfrom the ACW ranges would do.

As for the Japanese, I have no idea but the Boshin War seems to be close in terms of time frame. Maybe the more irregular types, the opposition to the Western powers seems to have been a rebel shogun. No doubt Jim Bibbly will know, he's the resident expert on all things Japanese.

Nice.  Well I managed to get to Salute and almost cleaned Dave Thomas out of the packs wearing kilmarnocks.  Made a point of thanking Alan Perry for producing the range, and sent him some info and pics from the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry Museum (originally 13th Bn Canadian Volunteer Militia) when I got home.  Alan did say that artillery and cavalry were coming as well as infantry wearing the 1861 short shako, which will be perfect for Ridgeway.
