Additions to the Sudan collection
« on: January 12, 2014, 06:58:00 PM »
I've been merrily adding to the Sudan collection and as it's a while since I posted any of my finished articles here, I thought I'd add a bumper crop:

Without further ado, we have the Royal Marine Light Infantry

A 'what if' Rocket Trough repurposed from the AZW

A few more Beja tribesmen and Jihadiyya:

All blogged with more photos here:

Some Baggara Horse:

Blogged here:

As an aside, I'm participating in the Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge again (http://analogue-hobbies.blogspot.co.uk) and you can find my latest there well before it hits my blog. But all in all the Sudan collection is coming along nicely and I hope to put on a game in the Spring.

Very nice.

I'm trying not to start on the Sudan and they are making it harder.

Fantastic figues.  I love the flag - was that hand painted?

Cheers all  :) all greatly inspired by work here and elsewhere.

Fantastic figues.  I love the flag - was that hand painted?

It is from Flag Dude www.FlagDude.com

Really dynamic flags, durable and come pre-assembled on steel wire for a reasonable price. My only quibble is the pixelation you can see up close.

Beautiful brushwork!  :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

If I'm to be honest I'm not very into the sabot bases (I prefer vignette style basing- though I know why folk would use them). Having said that, they take nothing away from the excellent painting  8) 8) 8)

Vignette basing is something I'm tempted to have a go at and looks amazing when done right, but I much prefer basing minis first then painting them.

I'm hoping to make some sabot bases in the style of Captain Blood's, which should offer more flexibility in forming up vignettes

And after a productive end to the Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge, plenty more for the collection on my blog http://infrequentwargamer.blogspot.co.uk

And the 10th Hussars:

Alas, I cannot compete with Deedles in volume. But little steps, little steps.  :)
