Superhero rules for the Marvel Universe
« on: January 12, 2014, 10:29:16 PM »
Hey, I'm looking for a Superhero rulesystem for the Marvel Universe. I know Supersystem 3rd edition could do it, but I want something ready to play. Something like the knight models Batman game. Supersystem could work, but I don't think the 4th edition will have the Spiderman stats...

Thanks for the assistance

Christophe

Easy: Heroclix or Heroscape.

- Good things of them: They are ready to play

I´d recommend Supersystem or next Pulp City rulebook with characters creation. That games are more complex and they´re not ready to play (you have to create the stas) but, in my opinion, superheroes are better represented and you have more freedom: you decide the stats of Marvel heroes as you want, nobody tell you that Spiderman only shots web on click 3 like heroclix.

For out of the box stuff, you could try the old Marvel RPG rules at http://classicmarvelforever.com/cms/.

I've no idea how they translate to miniatures, but they're free and are at the very least a good reference point for statting up Marvel heroes in another system.

The more recent Marvel Heroic RPG is also useful for reference, but the mechanics are too abstract for a minatures game.

Thanks Carlosyc. But I'm trying to get away from Heroclix... I don't know Heroscape, but it looks good. Most of the figures have stats.
I do like the supersystem gameplay, but I don't like their "heroes". I've found a marvel version for the second version I guess, but it hasn't been translated to later versions. I'll check the Heroscape version out.

Thanks all
Christophe

Are there any sites that have player submitted character stats? I know for Heroscape, they have a site called Heroscapers that has fan made/tested cards designed to use with other game figures (I mainly look at the clix ones).
Looking for a set of rules that adaptable for different genres.
