This is one of my favourite Western figures, even if he isn't a cowboy!

He looks like he's patterned after Lee Marvin's character Ben Rumson from Paint Your Wagon!

You did a great job painting the figure! Looks really good!

I'd show my cowboys if I had painted any... So far my entire collection consists of thos I bought from The Wisecrack, and a lovely bunch they are.   8)

Right now they are wiating for some suitable scenery so that  there can be a showdown at high noon.  :D

Hadn't really looked at cowboys before this thread. Now have ordered a few from Artizan. Hopefully they will come soon and I'll have a go.

Nice thread, good painting  :-*

It's great to see so many fantastic Old West models in one thread :)

I'l add my Cowboy posse to the mix although I suspect they're not a scratch on the efforts you guys produce...

An inspiring bunch of cowboys gents :-*

Here's my most recent bunch, I painted them for the last Steve Dean forum painting competition where they were soundly thrashed :'(

What an odd rule, considering the shotgun was one of the most widely available [and cheaper] firearms  :?

I haven't bought Showdown yet, so presumably there is a logical explanation inside   ;)

So long as you are playing friendly non-competition games, I can't see it being a problem though.

Thanks to all for the pics.

Practice practice for this wannabe. Heh.

Rules are fine. In friendly games (which is the usual sort) we use the LotOW rules book for now.

Keepin' it simple is best.

Use the danged shotguns partner. IMO....

Wow! There are some really talented artists here. I don't think I'm worthy to post some of these old pics and until I figure out how to post images from my website, here are a few links:

My very first Old West commission:

The gals kinda have that blow-up-doll mouth goin' on.  :o

And here is a project completed more recently:
