Old School Citadel Mini
« on: January 26, 2014, 09:05:03 AM »
Hoi Mates,

Hoping you lot can help with a quandary...  There was an old GW advertisement for Warhammer Fantasy RPG that showed a Chaos Warrior with a war-hammer in his hand and a shield with a pointed nose 'demon?', while crushing a skull underfoot.  I'm pretty sure they had a Chaos Warrior mini like this as well.....  My problem is that I cannot find either....  Anyone know what I'm trying to describe?

Now for the million dollar question, if yes to the two questions above, does anyone have this mini?

Cheers in advance for any help!

Uthmog Elvenblade - he was part of the second (1983) Citadel 'Champions of Chaos' boxed set. There's a couple on eBay right now.

That's the image I thought of too.  There was a mini of this chap which I think ended up in the C35 Chaos range but I am probably wrong, it could have even been C01 Fighters?

I know the name Uthmog Elvenblade but is there another fig or is this the fig that is referred to the early Harry The Hammer fig? :-)

Not sure about that, but there was another early-ish Harry the Hammer:

It's regarded as being the first 'Harry the Hammer'. My understanding is that 'Harry the Hammer' is a joke name around the production department meaning 'whatever hammer-wielding chaos warrior is currently being use to advertise Warhammer'. As Uthmog Elvenblade (his official catalogue name) was used as that image for 2nd Ed, he is de facto the first 'Harry the Hammer'.

I know. I think they had a random name generator and just put one name with one figure without looking at either of them.

Maybe he's got a magic +1 Elven dagger somewhere you can't see, or maybe his dad was called Bob Elvenblade and it's the family name.
