20mm modern infantry fast painting ? (CE/woodland camo)
« on: January 28, 2014, 01:29:53 AM »
Hi,

I think I'll soon start to paint my 20mm french modern force. I'm still not sure on how I will do it.

I've got A LOT of minis to paint. I'd say, around one hundred talibans, and around 30 or 40 french soldiers. Not counting the vehicles, and ALL the other projects I have in progress so far.

SO I need a fast but eficient painting technic. Long story short, I found (I believe) an eficient technic for my 10mm minis :

and even used it on my last 28mm dungeon grunts :

Basically, it's a black primer, than a "wet brush" of base dark color (dark grey for gargoyles, brown for skeleton, for example), then lighter drybrush, then blockpaint details (leaving hollows and lines black), then wash, then last highlights.

Very fast and "good enough" method. I'd like to use this for my french modern troops, who are wearing some kind of woodland camo (exact name is CCE camo I believe).

The question (finally! lol) is do you think this kind of camo is compatible with this fast paint technic, and if yes, how should I proceed ?

thanks !

Well, using some magazines and online pics, I made my own CE french camo, and obtained...a quite decent US woodland   ??? lol

Anyway, now it's done, I completed about 20 minis camos (painting camo was slower and harder than I expected), and I don't think I'll want to redo them  lol

I'll post pics tonight or tommorow, on my dedicated french modern topic.

Good, because I've been off the forum for about a week and there's 14 pages of unread topics! (And there's no way I'm just hitting the "mark all topics read" button lol).

Keep all your modern stuff in one thread ;)
