"detail is bigger and better defined." he says.  *regret intensifies*

Oh well. I'm sure I'll get some of the figs at some point. But having just organized and inventoried the painting room, I'm absolutely, positively certain I have more than enough unpainted miniatures and terrain projects to last me for quite a while.

For now.

More updates! Finished a bus by Micro Art Studios, 2 more Human Interface models and 2 Civilians.

Bus

Excellent bus and really good service by MAS. They sell the bus in a pack with 2 buses and some stops. But I already had bus stops from Antenociti and wanted only 1 bus. So I mailed them and they did a fast custom order. Really, really nice service! And the model is fantastic too with the acrylic sheets with images. That really adds to it.

Human Interface - U-Bolt

At first I didn't really like the model, but sometimes that can really change during painting. That also goes for this lady. I had lots of fun painting her and in the end I loved her spunky pose.

Human Interface - Lindon Paxton

This model was based of one of the backers for the game who spent a lot of time helping the creators. It's a real classic Cyberpunk model with nice weapons, outfit and pose. Easy to paint too with the Contrast paints.

Civilians

These were superfast paintjobs. 15 minutes each. Here's how:
1. Prime black and zenithal highlight with white from above.
2. Paint all the colours with Citadel Contrast. Simply block in all colours.
3. Apply some highlights
Done!

Excellent way to get some Civilians done in no time and they look nice and bright. Perfect for the Cyberpunk table.
Speaking of which...I also did some fancy shots for fun

Wow, that is one trippy neon dream! 8)  :-*

Having played on that table and those buildings several times now, I'm still amazed by how good it all looks, especially with the moody lighting. I never noticed the arguing couple behind the doors of the one building; that's hilarious! lol

But your excellent choice of miniatures, terrain and lighting really sets off this project of yours; it's growing from strength to strength.

I'm a bit wary of MDF vehicles, as the material can never reproduce the curves that define most vehicles. But you made the best out of that bus; it's not half as jarring as I expected it would be. Of course your painting helps a lot. And the decals on the sides are great! Do they come with the kit, or are they of your own making?

And are you now switching to transparent bases for your miniatures? Or are those reserved for non-combatant NPCs?

Keep it up; I hope I'll be able to play on your table again next Poldercon, be that Cyberpunk, Turtles or something completely different... 8)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Thanks man!
Hehehe, yes a big fight going on in the precinct! ;)
But it's the stuff you don't really see during gaming, but they do shine in photos. I just wanted some more detail to the windows and silhouettes seemed like an excellent solution.

I'm a bit wary of MDF vehicles, as the material can never reproduce the curves that define most vehicles. But you made the best out of that bus; it's not half as jarring as I expected it would be. The main problem was that there isn't a good Cyberpunk bus available, in resin or model or toy. So this was the best I could find (and I didn't want flying buses, that looks silly). I was hoping to find a bus similar to the vehicle Officer K passes by in Blade Runner 2049 (in the streets filled with kipple), but alas. This makes a great alternative. But the glass panels are acrylic sheets with images glued to it. You simply glue them in the recesses in the MDF, works really well. And they make the bus look soooo much better.

And are you now switching to transparent bases for your miniatures? Or are those reserved for non-combatant NPCs?

Spot on, clear acrylic bases for civilians! Works well to set them apart.

Keep it up; I hope I'll be able to play on your table again next Poldercon, be that Cyberpunk, Turtles or something completely different... 8)

Maybe it'll be Hardwired...otherwise I'll be playing again for a change :)

amazing stuff added as always! The zenithal highlight + contrast idea is a good one as well, I really need to pick up some contrast paints.

Thanks!

@Tim: Yeah, the Contrast Paints are brilliant over zenithal highlights. That makes the effect even better. And the strong, bright colours work really well for certain projects, like Cyberpunk, Gundam (HINT :P), etc.
