I need some figures to make in to Lewis gunners. Got some Lewis guns from Colonel Bill; now just need some civilians without weapons. One of them needs to be female. 25mm.

Any suggestions?

Open handed figures may be the way to go then....

My first thoughts turned to these as some are open handed and all are female:

I don't know about a lady, but brigade games makes Merchant Crew that come open handed.

Would you not be better to look for armed civilian (SCW?) types whose weapons you could replace with those of your choice? It would mean their arms would be in the correct position for weapons?

Musketeer Miniatures do some 1930s civilians - not sure if they're posed to take a Lewis gun though.

Thanks for the various inputs.

Looking at the suggestions above, I think a mix of Perry Mafeking and Musketeer civvies should do it.

I must be the only person who hasn't got any Perry stuff. How do they compare for size with Musketeer. I'm happy to mix figures of different heights so long as they don't look out of scale with each other.

I don't have a huge amount of Perry stuff - mainly plastic cavalry, but I think they'd scale upmwell with Musketeer - maybe a little slighter but nothing too obvious.

Thanks Jon - I think the Perry's Mafeking set with separate weapons may fit the bill nicely in that case.

Perry Mafeking range scale in nicely with Musketeer. I use both alongside eachother without any problems.

One of the Perry packs has men marching with separate weapons, including a pose with his rifle on his shoulder. I've used this pose with a separate Lewis gun and it works well.

I have them, they are on a small side of today's miniatures and smaller than dixon police men. I'd say they'd go well with miniatures I got from you.

Don't let the fact they're designed for Gangster games put you off, esp. as it offers the chance to have a pram mounted lewis gun.
