Thanks for the comments, chaps.

I feel rather privileged to be have been born at the right time to receive a lot of the good things of life and avoided many of the hardships.

We do not expect to be rich but should be comfortable.

As those of you who watched my other thread will know, when the rest of my school staff go back to work in September, THIS EX-teacher will be waking up in the Quality Inn, Gettysburg.................

Congratulations. Retirement is a wonderful thing. I've been retired for about 18 months now, and with the terrible winter we've been having here in the US, I appreciate it more and more.
