Wanting to overwhelm the Federales...

So, let say You wanted to overwhelm the Federales, and you used El Toro and Isabella for leadership/leadership purposes ( I suppose you could go with on Young Don (2 points) or two (52 points) but I am going to use the point heavy leader options here for now,) and wanted numbers to do that.  In theory you could field 25 "Plain Vanilla" (6 point, machete wielding,) Peons and hope that number had enough of a quantity to defeat the Federales quality factor.   How viable is that?

Allowing for Fanatic Peons you could field 13 Fanatic Peons, at 11 points each) plus a "Plain Vanilla" peon.  Is that any more or less viable?  Does the Fanatic Talents offset the almost double numbers?

I would be very interested to see how such a 'horde army' fared.

The table would initially be a bit crowded on your side and your troops vulnerable to grenade, rocket grenade and machine gun fire. On the other hand you'll still be moving figures well after your opponent has finished.

As peons are not exactly tough or skilled, your best tactic would be to close at a run then rely on mob attacks.

Why don't you give it a try and see how it works out

Considering the amount of assorted manufacturer Peons I have have I wouldn't be hard pressed to do that.

The hard part would be finding any 'non-peon' looking Farmers (could designate some peons that don't quite match the others I suppose) with a shotgun.  More than a few peons with carbines (winchesters!?) in my collection for that option.  Why do many manufacturers make peons with winchesters but not shotguns?
