Hooverville shanty town (updated w/ pics and tutorial link)
« on: February 11, 2014, 05:55:22 PM »
Every Depression era game needs a Hooverville. So toward that end I have been working on some shacks and rubble piles. I finally got them all painted up this last weekend. I think they will work nicely for my pulp games and my 2ACW games.

This is a shot of a few of my favorites out of the seven shacks I built, the rest are on my blog if you care to take a look.  Hooverville.

Thanks

So tonight I built another shack and did a quick tutorial.

Very nice! Those look like they would be useful in seedy south Asian port cities as well.

They certainly look the part.

Thanks for sharing.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Excellent work. Just the right amount of detail to tell the story and catch the eye.

Also, your research is classy as hell. Kudos.

If you felt motivated, a couple of pictures taken the next time you build one of these little gems would create a wonderful step-by-step or tutorial. It would be a significant contribution to the community.

The clue is in, if not the name, the the little globe icon in bob_murch's personals.

Nice shed, by the way. A shanty town is useful for oh so many contexts

Very nice shed, can we see a photo of them all?

Can I second the welcome to Bob Murch. I'm still painting that order from you that I received in November, photo here: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=59782.0

Fantastic miniatures, I just wish I was a faster painter!
