Welcome to the Great White North!
Hopefully you can get down (or is it up?) to HotLead
The website is hotlead.ca and they have a Facebook group as well
If you can, put a note in the facebook group. I know there are guys who come from or through Guelph.
I am in Chatham, ON - a couple of hours from Guelph - but I don't mind a road trip.
If you want to game sometime, let me know. Tam has friends in Guelph, so I'm sure I could convince her to take a drive.
Keith

Well, that might be awesome, but i woudln't bother you with a longer road to get to Hotlead! However, if you are really passing through guelph i will gladly jump in! =)

Hi there!

Enterprise Rent-a-Car is running a $9.99/day weekend rental special for their little economy cars right now. They have TWO locations in Guelph https://www.enterpriserentacar.ca/car_rental/worldLocationSearch.do

They will even come get you.

I also know a gamer lives in Guelph if you PM me your contact info I can pass it along and see if he is willing.

James
El Supremo/Head Doofus for Hotlead

Cool! Will PM you right now! If someone is FROM guelph i won't fell guilty to take a snatch!

Cheers and thanks LAFers! :)

Hooray!

Still don't know if I'll see you folks at Hotlead, but based on the weather, it'll be a slog by bus if I go.  :P

The snow will be gone by then lol but even if it's not the journey will be worth it.  Isn't there anyone from GTA going that you could grab a ride with?

Toronto proper is not a really strong minis gaming town at all. Given I don't play GW games or Warmahordes, I don't actually know a single tabletop wargamer in Toronto.  ::)

I'm sure there are some but with no outlets to game in, well, its like looking for the needle in a haystack. I sold a bunch of Wargames FactoryVikings to a bloke here living in T.O. to use for Saga with his buddies. I guess I "know" of 1 guy.

I'm pretty sure that Johnno is from the GTA (Hmmmmm maybe not after seeing the post above)

Unfortunately most of the guys I know are from the West (London), SW (Chatham/Windsor) or Stratford itself.

Check out the FB group, see if you have any luck there:

There's one other person on LAF from Toronto, but I can't recall who.

But yes, there's really no venues. In all of the downtown area and inner suburbs there's only the Duelling Grounds, and in the mid-suburbs there's Heavy Support games.

Duelling Grounds has a few non-Warhammer/Warmahordes minis gamers that I've seen, but Heavy Support's community is more MTG/YuGiOh etc. They do have minis gaming, but only "popular" games like 40k and Warmahordes, with a little Infinity and Flames of War mixed in - don't think I've ever seen anything more obscure played there, not that I go that often.

And that's it, in a city of 3 million.

We have a thriving wargaming group here in Toronto!

http://www.torontohmg.org/

We play downtown at Dueling Grounds on Wednesday nights. There is also Meeplemart which as a new location on Spadina near Dundas with a large gaming area (just opened there last week). If you are ever in town let me know and we'll have you down for a game.

Many of the guys will be at Hot Lead next weekend, but sadly I can't make it this year :(

I second Watts, our group is growing weekly. We play every Wednesday, and routinely have 8-10 guys out at a time, sometimes more. There's alot of FoW players in the city as well as other historical gamers. I think with Meeplemart opening a few years ago, the historical community has grown significantly. They seem to go through alot of SAGA, Bolt Action, FoW, etc.

Always welcome if you're in the city, make sure to stop by our website.

I was born, raised and work in Toronto. But I live outside of the city proper now. The cost and congestion among other factors have forced me out.

Edit

There was as group that met 1 Saturday a month near Bathurst St and Eglinton Ave W. I'll try to find their name

Nice to see some more faces from Toronto coming out of the woodwork. :)

I live near to Meeplemart. It's neat place to shop, but my impression had been that only 40k was played there. Plus the store front itself is only open 2-3 days per week and the staff was really growly and rude whenever I was there, so I saw no reason to return.

Maybe I'll give it another go. Trying to find folks up for Pulp Alley! Anyone?

EDIT: Anyway, to get back on track, I wonder how Sangennaru is doing now that he's in Guelph?
