A new french company is publishing a book which looks very good with great pictures. It should be a great source for painting 17th century swashbucklers.

Oooh. That looks very gorgeous.
But with the Euro exchange rate being what it is, also very expensive!  :'(

The publisher told me that they have been looking for a US retailer in order to avoid expensive shipping costs. I'll write a review when I receive mine.

The publisher will attend the World Expo in Girona (Spain), the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th July 2008 on the JMD MINIATURES stand (173)

I received my book (french version) this morning. It's a very nice book with superb pictures (17th-19th century paintings and drawings) and photos of weapons and armour of the french army museum (Invalides)

The chapters
I The thirty years war
II The french army before the war (1617-1634)
III The french army during the war (1635-1648)
IV Uniforms & Banners
V the french army in action (the battles).
and some appendices.

I need one of those -

but at 24 euros to ship it to the USA something is dreadfully wrong. At that shipping price should include a good bottle of French wine.

I like the look of the Canadian militia book, but at the moment the exchange rate is just a little high. Hopefully when it's published things will bw better  ::)

The Publisher has fixed this problem with the postal services. The shipping costs should be lowered from 24 to 14.50 euros

Hi, Lon

I have a friend who will be attending World Expo next month.  I was going to ask him if he could pick up a copy for me.  If you like, I can ask him to grab a second copy for you.  I imagine it would be considerably cheaper to ship it from Canada than Europe! Just let me know.

Cheers,
Mike
