Excellent conversions and ideas all round and very inspired by this :)

Was very tempted to have a go at creating a Roman street gang for Roman Britain a few years back when Foundry brought out the range of Imperial Roman civilians but never got round to it as life got in the way of my painting and collecting at the time and have just checked the Foundry site and it seems the range is now back in production and can be bought as a collection. May now order some of the armed civilian types and give the project a go :)

Those Legionary guards look just the part to try and enforce law and order in a run a down town or a rough bothered ramshackle settlement and most provinces saw civil disorder and internal strife at some stage and this was often put down very brutally by the army.

Hello all

Eric those are great ideas.
A small patrolling river boat is already on its way with a roman patrol on it (as soon as i have it completed i will take some photos) and one roman wagon is on the pipeline to be scratchbuild as well as 2 more wagons from Front rank medieval range.
Lots of goodies to make on the next month or maybe two.

Cheers

Now that sounds interesting! Are you going to build one?

Some of my gangers, ready for action but waiting more paint    ;D

From left to right :
An ex Artizan light spartan infantry, a Saxon casualty from BTD, a Foundry civilian with a Westwind head and finally a Crusader Irish Kern re equiped with a sword.

For weapon like sword and shield, i use Magister Militum ones because their are the cheapest on the market. 10 for £1.40.

Another bunch of ideas  :-* My favorit is the Saxon casualty guy, splendid character.

I've already received my BTD order containing some greek olders and legionaries wearing cloaks (top service from BTD!) :) These are so much better than the pics on their web site, very well sculpted. Really happy with the lot, thanks again for the inspiration!

btw, here are some further ideas for you:

Some new guys to rules the streets....

An ex spartan officer

turn now into a sentry for a gang, a gang leader or a spy for the police force (always with a Westwind head) :

and a future slave (WIP) :

the slave + the homemade chain

the slave ready for action  (to be sold at the market slaves or to run away)
