Winsor Cadmium Scarlet with a little Ochre for a dull orange or with Cadmium Yellow for a brighter one. Covers everything in one go and is pretty permanent on everything it touches.

Including myself, my wife, two cats, furniture and even walls and ceiling. Don't ask....

Then again I somehow feel you weren't asking about oil paint.

Its not a colour I use a lot, but when I do, I have no problem with GWs Fiery Orange.

I do add a bit of red to it for the basecoat, then work up to pure orange and add yellow to achieve highlights.

What have you been using, and what seems to be the problem?

Vallejo 851 Bright Orange - very heavily pigmented, deep colour, much better than most of the other Vallejo oranges. I use touches of it a lot to highlight leatherwork, for red hair and beards, and even for woodwork. One of my favourite colours. Highlight by mixing in yellow, not white.

I usually mix Vallejo Game Color Golden Yellow and Gory or Blood Red. Gives a nice, strong, but at the same time not too glowing orange.

GW Foundation Solar orange is pretty good as a base coat you can then build up form that with the Vallejo Cap Blood mentioned

Vallejo (solar, I think); and GW's Foundation (insert obscure race/faction of the Imperium name) orange is rather good. Slightly thinned it's even better.
