In Clouds of Glory at Hamburger Tactica 2014. New game boards
« on: February 24, 2014, 02:58:39 PM »
Hi all

The designers (Thomas and I) plus Christopher(LargoW)from Hannover TableTopTreff just used the full weekend to present and demo the game at the fantastic Hamburger Tactica Wargames show were we also attended last year.As usual the place was stuffed with great presentations. As Christopher is a native Germanese we had him run the games while we were in the way or fetched coffee. On saturday we got in an amazing amount of short games that demonstrated the rules and on day we relaxed and had a few games and had a lot of inquiries about the system and the new game boards. We also managed to sell a number of starter kits for the game so hopefully we will begin to see a number of game sets around Europe.

Here is some pics of the game and the new boards that is finally replacing our old (18 years old!)boards:

We also bought a bunch of France 44 micro armour stuff (Brits and Germans to use with the boards when we have found a suitable rulset:

ICoG is such an intriguing rules set, and the pictures of your fabulous, 3-dimensional terrain boards make it simply stunning to see being played.

Thanks for the kind words!.. We are not finished yet: The village is far from finished as it lacks about half the houses, fences and sheds (toilets etc,)  in the backyards as well as perhaps a fountain and some plants growing on the gables and so forth. Also planned is 4 frontline boards, a aerodrome, a board with a chateau that can be placed adjacent to the aerodrome as well as a seaplane station, a coastline and some flat seaboards.

Thomas who is the man behind the design and by far most of the build will make a how-to on the sand casting process when he can find the time for it. I think it is possible to use a cast board as a plug to cast a negative that again can be used as a cast. It should then be possible to make several copies of each board design. We will not make copies but would love to see others use the technique for projects of all sorts (Epic for example).

Here is some pics of the casting process:
