GW Rohirrim - First 4 Complete (ish)
« on: February 26, 2014, 11:31:48 AM »
Chaps and Chapesses!

I've finally chugged my way through the first four Rohirrim for LoTR SBG. I have to say its been a bit of a trial, I love the style of the mini's but hate how fragile they are. The horse sculpt that is attached to the base by a single hoof is the worst, couple that with what appears to be cheap plastic and you end up repeatedly breaking the darn things.

Anyway, here's a few pics, more as usual on the blog - http://offtclub.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/lotr-sbg-riders-of-rohan-and-gaming-in.html

Incidentally I'd be interested to here if anyone has any comparison shots of the Rohirrim alongside other manufacturers Dark Age cavalry (Gripping Beast Saxons etc) as I'm maybe going to base some of them on 2p and magnetise so I can use them in other systems!

It is sometimes best to pin that connecting hoof if only to strengthen the joint, lovely job on them though.

Top painting! :) Good colours, very neat.

I have to say its been a bit of a trial, I love the style of the mini's but hate how fragile they are.

I'm starting to get back into it after buying that one box of riders years ago. They're pretty cheap on ebay with broken spears, but that's where hand drills and a bag of North Star spears comes in. ;) Thanks for the tip about ankles, too...

Cheers Chaps!

Yup, I've managed to rekindle interest in our club, in part due to the films and a number of fine blogs ;)

Yeah, thanks for the tip Giger, I also have spears on order  :D

Lovely. ;D

I know someoene else who is painting Rohirrim, but so far he has only managed eight, but lost one the other night on his way over to my house(Same horse ankle problem), his figure transport system leaves a lot to be desired lol ;)
