I am one of those weird people who actually prefer restic to metal... At least when it comes to miniatures that will be handled a lot. I went out and bought a wire brush today though. Works great! Especially if you use a nylon brush afterwards.

I see you live in Sweden - what kind of shop did you get it in?

I just signed up for news at your blog, as I also happen have a very large garden (our lot is 4813 sq.m.), and I can always use tips and tricks for that, too  ;)
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

I got mine at Clas Ohlson, but you could probably get them cheaper at Jula or Biltema.

There will be more gaming stuff at the blog soon! If you have that large a garden, and in warm and mild Denmark as well, you could almost feed a family from it, or at least grow tons of stuff!

In the past year and a half or so since I received my first batch of Dreadball figures from Mantic, I've turned into quite the shill for their games. Dreadball is great fun to play,, I've picked up the first Dwarf King's Hold game, and I've recently started work on my first batch of Deadzone stuff. I absolutely don't need more models (probably ever), but I'm in for the Frenzy pledge with DBX. More models and new ways to play my favourite game...I'm sold.

I am looking forward to the modular pitch, big step forward for the game IMO. Some of the new teams are going to be interesting.

I wonder why female bodies so often seem to repel clothes in gaming...
This is only true for the new Asterians team, all of the previous female models have been fully clothed. At least they are not wearing chain-mail bikinis.  ;)

I have found that the resin, plastic, restic, etc. are better for games where handling the minis a lot is required. I often get chipped or rubber off paint on my metal minis after some play, this seem to happen much less with alternative materials.

Hmm. I'll see if I can find a hunting store, then. We don't have gun stores 'round here (most guns are illegal for civilians, and hunting guns can only be purchased if you have a hunting license).
Hardware stores should have them as well.

With a little less than a week to go, the Xtreme pledge levels are already better deals than the original Dreadball pledges were. I keep looking at what you get in Frenzy and being very happily surprised. On the other hand, it's pricey, and I really don't need all those new toys. Want, yes. Need, no. But when have any of us toy-soldier fanatics ever needed ANY of this stuff!? :)

I went in for a small pledge, just to get access to the heavily discounted dreadball stuff in the pledge manager. I calculated that if I buy two teams I get away cheaper than buying them in a store, even with shipping added...

Yeah, with Rampage I'll have plenty to work with, and I'll have plenty of time to save up for more stuff to add step-by-step... if I get around to it...

The important thing is to get the basics and the new rulebooks  :)

I think after this campaign, and just recently ordering the ultimate box set (season 3, which I didn't think to add to my order from the first DB kickstarter), the only rulebook I won't have in printed form will be season 2. It's not really a big deal since the backers all received PDFs, but the printed ones are nice.

As to Xtreme and the base game, I really like that they're covering all the bases for us. If you want to use the xtreme teams in original, you can. If you want to use the original teams in xtreme, you can. We already have a dozen teams, and with what looks like a dozen more...you can't say players won't have options both in their game play, and on their hobby table.

If you have interested parties in your area (for either game) I *highly* recommend at least giving a league a try. The game really shines with league play added in my opinion! So far I've played season 1 humans, Forge Fathers and Robots in leagues and they've each provided me with a very different experience.

Yup, I ordered the printed Season 2 rulebook at some point, so I shall have them all lined up.

What I REALLY like about DBX is that most players come pre-assembled. That should prove a big plus when trying to win over some convertites  lol

As with most other non-GW games, I'm solely trying to hold high the torch of freedom around here, but actually, my regular gaming pal and a couple of other guys have begun showing interest in 'alternative' gaming (even buying small amounts of stuff for it). Given time, I'll be running some DB events - I am already planning starting to arrange a gamer gathering twice a year in my garage attic (with the possibility to expand onto the actual grage floor).

A day-long Dreadball tournament would certainly be doable! Once folks learn the basic game you can play a match in around an hour. I could easily see a four round swiss get played, take a break for beer and food, and then play matches for the winners like in the olympics for 1st thru 3rd place.

stumbled on these today:

I think they are carbon, brass, and steel, but there's no telling from the package...
