Gutbukkit's Mordheim Project
« on: February 19, 2014, 11:35:55 PM »
I've recently rekindled my love for Mordheim. Whereas previously I've played using the preprinted cardboard buildings that came with the game I felt that this time round it would only be right to make the table look a whole lot better with scratch built terrain.

To start off I made this ruin, not quite finished as it still needs a broken roof and some more debris.

Before painting, basic foam board and balsa structure.

Ground floor.

Both floors, top floor is currently removable. I'm unsure as to whether to secure it or not.

And here's one I made in 2010 for the Frother's Unite Frotherheim table.

I will follow this with a great amount of interest...Mordheim was great fun (though I was more partial to Warhammer Quest).

Great stuff, Gutbukkit.
Gotta love Mordheim ruins!
 :-* :-*

As for that second level: I would fix it in place if I were you.
Previous experience tells me that one of the clumsier players will knock it off at the most inopportune moment.
You have been warned!

Cheers guys.

@Elbows: I always wish I'd picked up Warhammer Quest when I was younger as it was HeroQuest that got me into gaming.

@Mason: I think I'm definitely going with that advice. Especially as I'm that clumsy gamer usually  lol

Sweet! Looks like fun and a great ruin. I second Mason's advice. And his personal experiences.  :D

You've got some GREAT LOOKING additions to the City of the Damned...that phrase always makes me think of Las Vegas. Your woodwork is particularly nice. Keep up the FINE WORK!

If your looking for Mordheim information or inspiration, try a visit to Tom's Boring Mordheim Forum...or not:

Thanks all. Cheers for the link DeafNala, I'll check that site out this evening.

Small update of a different kind. The first two warriors for my Orc and Goblin warband; a shaman and henchman.

Edit: Forgot these in my first post. Custom counters that I asked Ian at Fenris Games to make, now available in their webshop.

EXCELLENT! The Pig Faced Orcs are the way I remember/think of them from my early D&D days....long, long ago. These two painted up WONDERFULLY; color choices & brushwork are SPLENDID. VERY WELL DONE!

This looks great! I'm really excited to follow your progress. Do you have an overall plan for your Mordheim board?

Cheers Patrick. I have no real plan for my board. My buildings tend to evolve and gain purpose as I build them. The only plan I do have is to have a docklands area from where my pirates can enter the city and mount their attacks.
