I don't think they're too dark. They're not bad at all. They'll get his models out on the table.

I like them! They aren't too dark, but dark and gritty enough for orcs!  :)

You orc painting style is very similar to my own...dark and gritty. Well done!! They will do your friend proud on the gaming table. Thanks for sharing.

I'm painting up some of the same (but for use as goblins in a dungeon).  How you managed to paint them is beyond me...some of the worst plastics I've ever put hands on.  :?  You did brilliantly well!

Dark?

Nar!
That is what orcs are supposed to be like, ask Tolkien.
 ;)

They look perfectly fine to me....and your friend is a lucky bugger who should be very pleased with what you have done.

Interesting as I think they are very easy to paint. I remember they almost painted themselves. Though I admit they are not the best sculpts I've seen worse.

@DowVooVoo:

I think they are pretty good. Orcs have to be dark. They don't Need to have green skin... (grumble, mumble...).  :D

A lot of the Lord of the Rings plastics suffer from big flat areas between details and/or weird joins, but I still find that I really quite like 'em!

This...each figure has 5-10% of the figure which they simply forgot to sculpt...leaving awkward big flat areas with no detail, rhyme or reason...bugs me.

Really nice and not dark at all. Are these the GW plastics then?
