Can somebody identify this mini, please?

I was looking through my stash of victorian minis - and stumbled on this:

I have NO idea from where I got it; I suspect it to be a British light cavalryman of some sorts?

Head seems to be broken off.

Is the sword arm separate? If so then I think it is HLBSC.

Looks like glued in place, yes.

Did the minis come with separate heads, too?

Nils, not separate heads as far as I know. I have their Life Guards/Household Cavalry and the heads are fixed. I am not sure what other regiments they produced at the time.

Nick, thank you! I now know, where and when I got the mini. I bought a handful of second-hand HLBSC colonial infantry from someone here, and I got that model on top (no pun!!).

Now for the next question: Is there an available head out there, somewhere, that might fit? It wouldn't hurt  if it was one that could mark the figure down as Harry Flashman (I love those books).

I would prefer not to have to behead another model to use it, but it's really too nice to just ditch. Of course I  could make a headless horseman, or a beheaded statue...

OK. Linkies, please. I don't dabble a lot in the victorian stuff (yet).    Will change when I get back to GASLIGHT and Chaos in Carpathia.

I have some loose Empress Miniatures heads and also some Ramshackle. I can send you some or probably bring them when we meet up.

Empress have some nice heads in pith helmets in their Zulu War range. Westwind have some head sprues with VSF head gear in their new Requiem releases.

There's no rush, I just happened to stumble on the guy while looking for a vampire 

But a pic could be nice - I'd still have to pair the possible heads with the mini to see how the proportions fit.
