Latest from my Bovington contact is that the Brits never used them. The Russians/Soviets, captured some from the Polish during RCW skirmishes. 4 of these were given to the Afghan army to use against the Brits in the Third Afghan war.

Cool beans!  I will use this as an excuse to arm my Wazir with at least one.

Pretty unlikely that the Bolsheviks supplied them to the Emir to fight the British in the Third Afghan War. For starters, the First Polish Tank Regiment wasn't formed until May of 1919, didn't receive its tanks until June and didn't see action until August, after the Third Afghan War was over. An opportunity to capture said tanks, wouldn't really arise until almost a year after the end of the Third Afghan War.

I wonder where the Afghans got spare parts from, if indeed they received them at all.

Well there are a couple of old F17s in Afghanistan, there is enough of pic evidence of that. The question is when they got there.
