I have always had a soft spot for the Mon Cal.
My first character in the SW RPG back in the nineties was an armoured Mon Cal.
Love 'em!

AMBUSH IN THE MIST

The Vulture, a space yacht decorated with the insignia of the Corporate Sector, reverts its journey to subluminal speed in a secluded system hidden from the watchful eyes of the Empire, or so they believe ...

In it travels Yorenn Siwbarra, an important executive of one of the great firms of the Corporate Sector and Shen Wando, liaison with the rebel Alliance. Wando has long worked for the rebellion to receive economic support and resources from the Corporate Sector; It has been decided that the first meeting will be held in this enclave, where they expect to meet with a delegation of important Alliance officials and be out of reach of the imperial forces.

Suddenly, the yacht is attacked by a ship of unusual design. Must have followed them ... but, to this place ?? Have they overlooked any tracking device? Or maybe they have been betrayed ...

The ship falls, damaged, losing load, components, energy. The Company pilot decides to risk a forced landing on the only planet that shows signs of sustaining life in the system. Moria, the second planet counting from the Local Astro, a red dwarf. The planet has a dark reddish appearance, covered with a thick layer of gases or vapors. Nothing reassuring. However it will serve to await the arrival of the ships of the Alliance. And they have better opportunities to survive than emptiness.

[...] In another part of the system ...

The locator she had placed on the Vulture had gone unnoticed during routine inspections. Kai Coreshock had followed them to this uncharted system. The Imperial Security Office (ISO) had hired her to probe and verify if the Corporate Sector diverted resources to the Rebel Alliance. As she pressed the controls of his transponder to summon the imperial fleet, she extended his mystical senses to the ship that was fleeing badly toward the small planet .... A strong presence stood out among the other crew. A being of light, a grace of the Force. That would make the hunt even more interesting.

He stared at the erratic trajectory of the yacht as it descended into the hazy atmosphere of the red planet. ... would expect the arrival of the imperial reinforcements, would receive his reward if, but before .... finally wanted to test his skills against an enemy at his height, a powerful in the Force. He was going to enjoy himself immensely to test himself and see as far as he could.
[....] Surface

The yacht collided on the surface of the planet dragging its crippled hull carving a trail of destruction and scrap metal. Checking the damage and the condition of the crew and passengers, the pilot positioned his distress signal, hoping that the Alliance, on arrival at the appointment, could locate them.
Probably the culprits were pirates but the Alliance liaison guaranteed that the system was unmapped, in any case there was the possibility that they were waiting, impossible thought, and finding them only meant that they should have been tracked.

Suddenly the sensors that remained operational emitted a cacophony of beeps and signals on the screens appeared imperial ships entering the system. It seemed like a small contingent of quick response and right now they were completely alone against their unexpected pursuer. Until the rebellious reinforcements arrives they would have to manage alone, at least they had an ace in the sleeve, Shen Wando ...

In this scenario:

Rebel player: 1639 SGP's

8 crew yacht Vulture (small arms)
4 Well-equipped bodyguards / mercenaries
Yoren Siwbarra, CEO of Corporate Sector. (VIP)
Shen Wando. Undercover rebel agent. Jedi Knight

Imperial player:1641 SGP's

Kai Coreshock. Advanced Sith Apprentice.
Imperial captain.
Two stormtrooper squads (6 each)
 Imperial Navy Officer.
Two Imperial Navy Squad (8 each)

Deployment zones.

Rebel forces

Entrenched to 15 "of the space wreck.

The rebel player has had time to raise barricades with the cargo scattered in the collision. The idea is that they have prepared a makeshift fort to deal with the imperial forces. (They start the game in heavy coverage, which can be destroyed and rendered useless)

The Alliance delegation is very close to the system, on arrival they can detect the distress signal of the Vulture and engage in combat against the Imperial Flotilla.

The player may have one / two hunting attacks, have refused space combat to support their groundmates.

Rebels: In the first phase of Special Actions the rebel player must launch a D3 to represent the number of rounds that take the rebel forces to appear at their appointment in the agreed system. At that time, a Corellian corvette and a Y-Wing squadron will appear in orbit, to verify that instead of its liaison with Senator Siwbarra, there is an Imperial class Carrack cruise. From that time on the rebel player can request an Y-Wing attack ( starfighter straffing attack rules!) And the rebels will know wich is the retrieval point.

Total Victory: Jorenn Siwbarra and Shen Wando must survive. Victory objectives should be shifted to points randomly determined by a D2 (North-point - NOrth-East, 1,2,3 - NOrth- West 4,5, 6 -

Partial victory: Jorenn Sibwarra must survive. Victory objectives must be shifted to points randomly determined by the same procedure

Imperial Forces.

The bounty hunter Kai Coreshock has requested imperial reinforcements. A small rapid reaction force, consisting of a light class Carrack cruiser appears on the system. The arrival of the Carrack is a quick response to the call, does not have large landing troops, but is probably the advance of a bigger force. With limited landing power, the Cruiser deploys a few units on the ground.

Deploy along opposite ends to the space wreck. North side.

The Imperial player can arrange a surface attack with these fighters (for Game purposes, a Tie fighter that will make a flush) See rules of Starfighter straffing attack run.

Total Victory: Capture or kill Jorenn Siwbarra and Shen Wando
Partial Victory: Capture or kill Jorenn Siwbarra.

Special Scenario Rules:

Fog of War. The dense atmosphere of the planet keeps the submerged surface under constant dense fog. This reduces visibility - 8 "The fog covers the whole table, except for the higher areas of the playing field. During the course of the game, the fog can rise. At the end of the Special Actions Phase, a player throws two Dice and adds them: if it adds 10 or more, the fog starts to rise. Visibility increases by 1 "per turn. Macrobinoculars, like stormtroopers' lenses, deny the effects of fog. The rebel players placed three dummy dice for each squad/hero ( different values) in different locations  this made the imperials to wonder wich were the real location of our troops, given the dense mist  extended on the board. Additionally i prefer this system rather than writing the movements and locaions in a paper. it gives you and your foe the illusion that there are real movements on the board, but you don't know wich ones are fake or if they are responding to a real strategy.

The Imperial Playes used succeedely the Sense Life power with Kai Coreshock, that discovered many dummy positions, clear of any rebel scum/ traitors to the empire.

Mynocks! The mynocks are one of the most particular creatures in the galaxy. Technically they are a winged parasite that lives thanks to a guest that happens to be its habitat, arriving to measure 1.60 meters. They are highly energicotropic and as long as they can be hooked to spacecraft that cross their path. Spacecraft are virtual energy banquets for mynocks. They tend to concentrate around areas where energy is more easily accessible, such as power cables and ion gates. The collision of the ship has attracted numerous Mynocks, eager for energy. Although they do not usually attack numerous targets when they are hampered, they will not hesitate to do so to isolated targets and always in herds. (Any group of miniatures made up of at least 4 or 5 members may attract a flock of Mynocks due to the concentration of the energy cells of the weapons they carry. They will appear with a score of 5+ at the start of the turn and may suffer a Attack of these beings.) A success in attack by the Mynocks will suppose that they have adhered to the arms that carries the miniature that is attacked. The Mynock will suck the energy contained in the arms of the weapons until they leave them coaxed in D3 turns. A miniature with an Attacked Mynock can only fight for release (melee combat), and can not participate in combat. An allied miniature can try to free the partner by opening fire (with the risks involved) or fighting hand to hand. There will only be up to two groups of Mynocks active in Game.

                 Mynocks.
                 Parasite.
                 Dexterity: 3
                 Perception: 1
                 Strenght: 1
                 Movement: 9 (flight)
Energy Leach: Mynocks can adhere to the energy cells of weapons, leaving them exhausted in a D3 turn.
Silicone-based life forms: Mynocks survive in a vacuum, unaffected by gas grenades, stun grenades, neurotoxicants, or Crioban.

As rebel players, we deployed the Vulture Crew surrounding the ship wreck, among the crates they have prepared as  hard cover.

We placed the Jedi away from the Exec and his bodyguards, expecting to attract attention from the imperail player and letting Sibwarra to escape.
The dicerolling war lucky for us, letting the Rebel reinforcement - on Orbit- arrive in one turn!! , additionally our, pick-up point was on our left side.

The imps , on the other side, were unlucky , each time our Friend Lewis threw a dice, rolled for a Mynock appearance only among the imperial units!!! bogging down their movement, as they had to fight agaist the annoyant aliens had- to hand.
Mynocks even manage to withdraw a stormie unit in a Monty Pithon's and the Holy Grial rabbit scene ( " RUN AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY")

Even with two squads attacked by mynocks, ( each turn, many thanks, Lewis!!! lol lol lol) the Imperials were closing their grasps on to the desperate Alliance liaison and the exec. entourage.

While they were advancing, the Sith apprentice was using her Life sense power, and soon there will be nowhere to hide.

so we decided to bring to action our Alliance liaison, the Jedi consular , which in a sudden movement, used the Force blast power to make clear the path to the pick up zone.

Again Mynocks appeared to bog down the imperial forces that were surrounding our hidden Exec with his bodyguards, thus, now or never it was time to head for the pick up point, while were ordering a straffing attack from the rebel forces in orbit.

After the Jedi showed up, the twil'ek sith apprentice run to his, while she wasusing her Rage power

The deadly clash between the force users was really intense, using many Force re-rolls in order to avoing injuring!
