Jazz Age Imperialism~Books and movies

I was hoping that some of you would be able to recommend some good books, both historical or novels (I particularly like to read soldiers journals) for the Third Afghan War (I have read a lot on the Back of Beyond in Central Asia, but not so much relating to the North West Frontier).
Also interested in movie recomendations. Thanks in advance.

A bit later than the Third Afghan War but in my view an essential read for anyone interested in fighting on the NWF is the first volume of John Masters autobiography- "Bugles and A Tiger" , which covers his service as an officer in a Gurkha regiment just before WW II. Another essential for details of the type of small operations that were typical of NWF fighting is Charles Chenevix Trench's - "The Frontier Scouts" covers from the Second Afghan War upto Independence.

Wallace Breem, better known for his Eagle in the Snow did a cracking book on the 3rd  Afghan war, "The Leopard and the cliff"'.

I got my copy on kindle.

Thanks everyone.
I am currently reading "The Leopard and the Cliff" on my Nook
And have ordered the Osprey, "Crisis on the Frontier", "Frontier Scout" books(spent less than 20 quid)
And also "The Tin Drum" movie, already watched it on You Tube, but that is a fairly poor copy so want to see it again.
Oh yes I also got all the Empress miniatures apart from the Cavalry (if I paint enough before SALUTE will pick them up then) and one of the FT-17 tanks.
