British Napoleonic infantry in greatcoats?
« on: March 26, 2014, 05:38:33 PM »
Does anyone know of anyone producing 28mm Napoleonic British infantry in greatcoats and wearing the covered Belgic shako?

Would particularly like them in firing line/skirmishing poses. I have seen that Knuckleduster do some marching and advancing figures in stovepipe shakos but don't really want to do head swaps.

Thank you

Apart from the Knuckleduster ones I am not sure. It did get me thinking though that the greatcoat is the answer to the prayers of people who hate painting British lace  :D
I have a lot of the old Hinchliffe French cavalry in cloaks that hide practically everything except the head, the boots and a bit of the saddle cloth.

Ease of painting was one of my thoughts as well  :) But I was mostly thinking of some winter War of 1812 skirmishing (although I will need some winter Yankees then as well of course)

It is strange that most of the bigger manufacturers do French in greatcoats but hardly anyone does Brits -

I wonder what sort of interest there would be?

If you can find some of the old Minifig 30mm figures they have Brits and French in great coats with covered shakos.  Although they called them 30mm...with the scale creep of the last several years, they fit in perfectly with current 28mm.

Foundry has some in their War of 1812 line.  I know that FRP Games in the US has some on clearance which may be worth a look.
