I have a strange affliction, and I'm sure I can't be alone.

I am a “flitter”
 
“Cool” miniatures grab my attention, I buy them, and they end up in the “leadpile” for ages.

Now, I'm no great painter, so simply painting these figures for the joy of it, or for display alone doesn't  really justify my collecting, so a game like “In Her Majesty's Name” suits me because each company only really needs 6 to 12 figures.

Even finishing a dozen figures for one faction, before I get distracted by something else, is hard for me though, so I thought I'd post individual miniatures as I do them. I probably have enough undercoated or unpainted figures at the moment to make at least half a dozen different companies.

I hope to use this thread to encourage me to eventually complete actual, usable companies, even if I do jump back and fore between on the way. We'll see how that works out,

I like your conversion, and I actually bought a second one so I can convert him to have some sort of weapon next time around.

And no, you are not alone. If they are on sale (or even if they're not, shamefully) I sometimes find myself buying figures for a future project that is at least 2-3 years away (given the size of my leadpile), or new realeases I just have to have....

BUT, painting the odd figure "just for fun" is an excellent way to get to some of that far away stuff, and to keep you motivated and not burn on on whatever the current project is!

Your Iron Man is great, and in the correct colours too, 
I also have a second one, to be fielded without a weapon, probably, 

These days I also have to buy before I forget where I've seen them, 
And yes, before you ask, I have accidentally bought some figures twice, because I've forgotten I already have them...

This is what I have "on the go" at the moment, in various stages (i.e. minor conversions done, undercoated, at least part-painted).
It does not include untouched bare metal. But I AM trying to work on it, although admittedly without any organisation or planning, just painting whatever I fancy, whenever I have time.

I'm vaguely hoping to complete a Russian company, a dinosaur-hunting expedition, a giant rat-based company, Society of Thule, and some Brits in the foreseeable future,

Worse, I've given up ever painting, holding the rare piece in hopes someday, someone will just have to it proper.

Does happen, but the pile grows faster.

The repainted Heroclix Hulks behind the tank are intended to be a couple of squads of Society of Thule super soldier experiments gone wrong, so, yes, sort-of-Hydes.

And Lebrock is a lovely figure to paint. I love Bryan Talbot's Grandville graphic novels, so I intend to collect the other characters and eventually build a Dr Moreau-style company around them. There are only 3 available at the moment, but more coming.

Funnily enough, Mutton Chops do a darker take on "The Wind In The Willows" with a VCBW slant, with their "Windy Chaps" and "Weasley Wretches", although their creatures have become human

Remember what I said about flitting? Well, today, looking at the excellent North Star figures of "Dodger" and "Fagin", I thought I'd like to
base a company around them, with plenty of street urchins, possibly "Dodger's Irregulars"?  

(incidentally, I loved Terry Pratchett's "Dodger" novel)

Anyway, a quick dig through the lead pile, and I came up with these:-
The massive Heroclix figure (Solomon Grundy?) has already earned the nickname "Tiny Tim",

And do you know of anyone producing Victorian children miniatures? Preferably street-kid types...

Nice work - I like the Leman Russ Steam tank conversion.
