Refurbishing some old Tattoine terrain
« on: April 01, 2014, 10:23:13 PM »
My six year old son has expressed some interest in gaming Star Wars.  After blowing off the dust of my old Mos Eisley terrain I felt it was in need of some work.  I wanted to make it as simple as possible.
It's just the two of us playing anyways.

Here are some domiciles

They look great to me.  Are the domes made of foam?
This is my boomstick!

Very nice, wouldn't mind having something like that myself if I had the space.

Thanks for all the compliments.

They are a simple construction of a roughly 4 inch hexagon with a styrofoam dome glued on top.  I then made a slurry of sand and glue and paint.  Hopefully it will last forever.

The moisture vaporators, are made entirely of wood.  My local craft store sells tons of wood beads, thimbles, and cubes.  I just arranged them in a sort of pattern that resembles the vaporators.  They are not perfect, but look the part.  Using wood glue means that they are very sturdy as well.

Here is the finished wastes:

*whew* I feared these were half-L'eggs styrene eggs. Hen's teeth, I say!

Right! I recognize the stepped 'thread spools'. Excellent, all around!

I'd be curious, as well, though the twins, at eight, are starting to handle a fair amount of complexity.

In the past I've just used WOTC, but I like the look of Fubar.  Perhaps something custom.

Any suggestions?
