Old School Byzantines
« on: April 05, 2014, 06:26:07 PM »
A picture of my freshly completed (bar 8 bases on the unit I finished off today) Byzantine force for Saga.

These figures are old minifigs (or something of that ilk) that were very kindly given to me by a good friend of mine. They apparently have sat in his cupboard for a long time.

I removed the old wooden block bases, did a little stripping of the old paint, and then got to work refreshing the chaps.

I also had assistance with some of the painting from another friend (he did the 3 points of hearthguard and the basing), I did the warriors and the steppe mercenarys, so these are truly a group effort.

I am very happy with how they turned out, and it is also a nice feeling for breathing life back into some old miniatures.

Hope you enjoy, Cheers, John.

Wonderful! The armored horses are Hincliffe - I purchased a full set of their newly released late Byzantines back in the 70s...and painted them all!
