Can anyone point me in the right direction for a suitable cameraman figure in 28mm. I am looking for something like the one from King Kong (Jack Black version).

Pulp Figures can be obtained directly from Bob, who is a great guy to deal with, or  in the EU from the Miniaturacum who advertises here on LAF.
