Asgard Orcs equivalent/similar/substitute
« on: April 19, 2014, 10:42:43 AM »
Sorry if this has been asked before (can't find it if so), but cananyone suggest a range of orcs similar to these:

I know these are actually still available via Viking Forge but the postage is a bit eye-watering to the UK.

So, any orcs that look like these (proper orcs, IMO) rather that GW-esque "Greenskins"?

Have you browsed the old showcase? Albeit a bit outdated, it has four pages of candidates.

Actually, I find Grenadier hobgoblins somehow similar in style, although they have orcs too.

Although I am going to use mostly Asgard Orcs for my Mordor force, I have got a few of the old Grenadier line to use as Uruk-Hai.
They are bigger but as Uruks, they will be fine.

I agree with Dolmot regarding the hobgoblin option, very similar.
In fact, it may be the hobgoblin flavour that I have..... ???

There are also a few old Citadel orcs that mix OK to me.
Ugezods Death Commandoes work well for me as unit leaders, Uruks and Chieftains:

I have a few of these that I will be utilising.

Let me take a dig for you and see if I have some spares for you to try out.
 ;)

Cheers guys - some food for thought there. The Grenadier hobgobs aren't too bad at all, but the best fit overall look like the Vendel ones, with a bit of GS for hair.

Does anyone know if anyone picked up that range when Vendel went the way of the wind?

If you don't believe in lead, you're already dead.
