@ ulverston: Thanks a lot.

I built the Tamiya T55 kit three weeks ago. It is a really nice kit.

Totally agree, it's been a pleasure to put together a kit that actually fit's together.
Most of my builds over the last few years have been either Hobbyboss (not bad), Italeri (not too bad) or ACE (the older kits are best described as challenging).
Tamiya went together so well I thought I'd done something wrong!

Yup. They almost build themselves and the guide key for the lower track means track alignment, usually the worst part of tank construction, is a doddle.

I’m a bit surprised that there haven’t been more after-market mods being produced for conversions.  So far just some PE engine screens and braces plus a couple of decal sets from Star. Not only is a stunning kit, it's a stunningly useful one.

I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on their new T-34/85. Another very useful kit and doubtless more user friendly than the insanely detailed Hobby Boss version.

I did a Hind for the 20mm stuff

I think both the Mi-24 & Mi-8 were by Hobbyboss.

Very nice indeed! I think I have the same kit, mostly built and in need of a coat of paint. Fantastic machine

Got a fair amount done on the T-55, just waiting for the turret stowage box to arrive...

Thanks Carlos.
I probably went a bit OTT with the brown, hard to work out the pattern from the limited amount of period photos (of the eight tanks, they look to all be painted slightly different).  First go at dust dried a bit lighter than expected, so I'll give that a prod with something. Extra stowage box should be posted tomorrow, then the wait to see how long it takes to get to the UK from NZ. I'm racing with my post in the opposite direct , see which wins...

I was a tanker for 11 years.  That dust dries to a quite light shade.  A very light tan.  It does darken when it gets wet, though.  But, I think that T55 looks great!

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll leave it as is for now, add some more pics once I've added the stowage box.
