Taisho is generally used as a catch all term for a commander, it can mean general or just group commander. I think it depends on the size of the force as well.

Cavalry never really had 'units' as we perceive them, it was more of a mixed unit of a few cavalry with their respective combat retainers mixed in, a bit of a bugger rules wise but not insurmountable

The Miyoshi force is on pennies now and just needs bases painted and a bit of tarting up
