This is one very tough decision here. Both excellent examples of fantastic freehand shields, great shading on the clothes, excellent metallics. Both have very good skin tones, creatively and expertly executed bases, and did I mention the freehand shields?!?

The only thing that differentiates them is the staging of the scene. Excellent show gents, excellent!

Both beautifully painted entries. I'm a little surprised the voting isn't more close.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Me too. I was a little surprised to find I wasn't losing this one. I thought Michi's excellent Normans might edge it. Superb painting Michi. I love that grey-green tunic, the shields, and the gleam on the helmets.  :-*

Thank you, I may return the compliments. The spirit of the game is to be in it. Winning is a bonus. It is an honour to compete with entries like yours! I have to admit that I would have voted for your entry (and I actually did of course), because the miniatures are more appealing than mine. However I needed the Normans to be finished for Saga and the LPL was a good excuse to get them done earlier. Lesson learned: LPL9 will be prepared by a beforehand selection of crisp miniatures and a bit more planning...  :D

I've heard those words several times after LPL 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. Thus far my success rate is flat zero. lol
