Very nice brushwork and basing. I enjoyed your commentary, as well!

Cheers,
Scott

Thanks very much, chaps! Glad my waffling on a bit of background was appreciated too! Some further progress over the last few days;

Archers ready for basing-

second rank spearmen based-

Sir Gilbert finished and ready to be joined by the Marischal and the Steward...

Next up; the Marischal, another base of archers and another base of pike (naturally!)

Cheers
Iain.

As before great work, I remember reading that one of the reasons archery did huge damage to Scots armies of the period was the "corralling" of the sheltrums inside a ring of stakes and chains, making them huge densely packed stationary targets.

Any thoughts on depicting this?

How refreshing to see some intelligence brought to a medieval Scottish army rather than the old cliche's run out. Well done.

THIS is how to paint 15mm... awesome. Great shining use of colours, perfect contrasts... I simply love it.

Cheers guys. Lost my painting mojo a bit of late, but should hopefully have some progress to post up soon!

Yeah, sort of! There's a bit of dubiety as to how much use was made of such defences; particularly with regards to the infamous "potts" dug at Bannockburn. However, I do intend to do a few bases of stake and rope barriers (they're an option under the DBM army list). Cocktail sticks and string will probably feature heavily..!

Cheers, guys! As I said, much loss of painting mojo of late, so not a lot of progress. Managed to get the archers based and finally photographed, though...
