Vinyl tiles - buying a few?
« on: April 26, 2014, 11:35:35 PM »
Can anyone suggest somewhere I can buy a small number of vinyl tiles to build some river sections?

I've tried the usual places (Poundland etc) and no one on Ebay seems to want to sell me less than seven square meters. I mean, I don't mind, but three times the total area of my game table just for rivers seems over the top... lol
Measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe, hammer to fit, paint to match!

Dont know about UK, but in US we can typically find tiles at home improvement or flooring stores.

My local Poundland sell them in packs of 4 (300mm x 300mm each).

I'm jealous if yours does bigger packs.

Hi Mitch

Try Homebase if you want river vinyl tiles these are the best going - 6 tiles for £7.99

Eric,

Thanks for this - Homebase is the only oneof the big "sheds" I haven't looked in. B&Q, Wickes didn't have the colours.

I'm off to find my nearest Homebase!

I've been in Wilko, Poundland, B&M and all the similar places, and all they had was small black and white squares or wood grain. Make an odd-looking river, even by my standards!  :o

I'll be river-making as soon as I can haul myself to Homebase. I need a terrain project lol

Dunhelms do rolls of usefully coloured vinyl. They sell by the metre. I have bought enough of their blue to cover my table (4.5 foot x 9 foot) for naval games. One metre should be enough for you river needs.
I bought some of their grey for built up areas and am thinking of their red for sci-fi.
