Thank you matakishi. You honor me sir.

Thank you DeafNala. I'm considering that rug idea a lot. Either as an animated bear skin rug, or a thief that sneaks around with a bear skin strapped to his back. It's the perfect camouflage. Maybe a goblin thief, or a pair of goblin thieves.

Thank you verd. I've got another post to make in the next couple days. It's a special banner that I wasn't sure I wanted my players to see. I was going to throw it at them in the next couple weeks. I've since decided they could use a break... this time.

This sculpt was made for a miniatures contest on the DM's Craft. I don't plan to use it in my Rise of the Runelords campaign. At least I wasn't planning on it before. Here is a simple banner.

But as the players approach it, something doesn't look right about it...

That's right folks. It's a Mimic pretending to be a banner.

Here are the work in progress shots.

Please let me know what you think.

I can see your Player Characters developing phobias for inanimate objects...hopefully no little children will wear a sheet to their homes this Halloween. That aside, an UBERCOOL idea brought to life in FINE fashion...I really like the Flag Fiend revealed. VERY WELL & IMAGINATIVELY DONE!

Thank you DeafNala. I decided not to use this in the campaign just so the players wouldn't spend half the game checking every single object in a room. If they did, I'd have myself to blame.

Thank you von Lucky. I'm really enjoying this new aspect of miniatures gaming. It's cutting into my paint time, but it's also saving me lots of money on purchased miniatures. I haven't bought a large monster in half a year.

Thank you Beefcake. Since my sculpting has a rather cartoon quality I'm never sure if the scare will work or not.

I really love the billowing to the cloak. It adds to the intimidation.

Really great old skool fun. If you need a specific model, just make it yourself. And it turned out quite nicely, especially on the 2nd mimic  :).

Thank you Verd. The mimic turned out better then I expected.

Thank you Argonor. I've heard Super Sculpey won't survive the molding process. I'd use a different material, but this stuff is just too easy to work with. I wouldn't finish a third of my projects if I was working with Green Stuff.

Thank you Duncan McDane. My favorite look is old school, so that worked out. Making your own monsters is the way of the future. Well, it is for me I think.

Thank you Affun. I hope to have some more spooky goodness up soon.
